Teen Co-founder of a business at the age of 15. Is it true?
When I and my dad went to Bill Gates’s office to ask for investment in my company witty-academia, he readily agreed to it…
Back to 2021
To start with, my bonding with my dad has been strong like a diamond that cannot break. He is such a good teacher that the things he explains to us are unforgettable. He is basically a content writer for GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc. exams. I and my dad always aspire to be business partners and start our own company. Ohh and did I forget to mention how creative he is? He can literally turn a random conversation into a super funny joke.
My dad was randomly sitting on his laptop and was making memes! They were not basic memes but instead, they were GMAT-specific memes. I got curious and went up to him and asked him why exactly was he doing it? But you know my dad is so committed to this work that he just said, ‘Not now, once ready will call you’ and shut the door. And after 20 mins or so he called saying, ‘Come! I made GMAT merchandise designs.’
First, it surprised my mom and me because the merchandise designs were bomb, but the moment we read witty and educative micro-concepts on GMAT math, we were clueless as mom and I are weak at maths! But when he explained the content to us, we found them full of edutainment. They were so unique that I fell in love with them.
After this, 5 to 10 days were the best because he was experimenting a lot with such quirky and witty graphic content on T-shirts (Read the graphic in the image), mousepads, coffee mugs (Read the graphic in the image), fridge magnets (Read the graphic in the image), caps, laptop skin, and many more. Every now and then, some new graphic content ideas and new editing skills popped up in his head.
One fine day, when he was showing his merchandise designs to me and I was appreciating him, our eyes met and our face glowed; we knew we want to make a business out of it. First, it was a rough plan but then the moment things got in place, it all made sense. We did many brainstorming sessions discussing the business plan, name of our company, and much more. The moment my dad said, ‘Soon we’ll be co-founders to witty-academia.’ I knew it was real!
Our relatives supported us a lot by giving critical feedback; one of his friends helped us in publishing the website (www.witty-academia.com). We even thought to expand our company in the USA and UK as from some surveys we got to know that there is a need of GMAT and GRE quirky and knowledgeable merchandises. Slowly and steadily we expanded to not only GMAT-specific merchandise but also SAT, ACT, GRE, TOEFL, and CAT.
After few years when it was time for our company to scale up our funding as our company was mentioned in some blogs and articles for uniqueness, we thought why not approach Bill Gates. When I and my dad went to Bill Gates’s office to ask for investment in witty-academia, he readily agreed and it was one of the best moments of our life.
You thought the first paragraph was a joke? No, it wasn’t!
